The 13th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) opened, as scheduled, in Xiamen, Fujian Province, on September 8, when some leading indicators indicate recovery of the world economy. Mr. Ma Kai, State Councilor and Secretary-general of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony.

As one of the largest investment promotion fairs globally, this CIFIT held under the financial crisis has attracted the attention of businessmen home and abroad. Compared with previous ones, this CIFIT is larger in scale and have attracted more international participants. Overseas exhibitors are from more business groups and of high level. Developed countries are especially more interested in taking part in the fair.

At the opening ceremony, Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming said in his speech that the theme of this CIFIT is"Promote International Investment, Boost Economic Recovery", which highlights internationalism with special significance and richer content. Chen hopes that this CIFIT can be the "golden key"to promote two-way investment, so as to realize economic recovery and all-win.

This CIFIT sets up 2,800 booths, with a floor area of 60,000 square meters, which is the largest scale ever; there are 13,000 overseas participants from over 100 countries and regions which is a record high.
