FFG Europe SpA will be showcasing the RC270 milling centre at the DMC 2014, which will be held from June 4-7 in Shanghai.
The RC line is the third generation of high-speed milling centres with mobile crossbeam proposed by the Rambaudi brand. The strong request of high dynamic performance and a good removal capacity at competitive prices are at the core of the design process.
The RC270 model belongs to the third generation of the RC line. As well as offering a broader range of linear axes strokes, the RC270 also features the new Glob 123G milling head, equipped with a spindle capable of high removal rate with HSK-A-100 tool holder. This spindle is especially designed to increase significantly the product versatility and is capable to carry out finishing operations as well as heavy-duty milling, says the company.
The RC line is characterized by: overhead gantry structure; longitudinal X axis of 2200/3000/4000/6000 mm and over; transversal Y axis of 2700/4000 mm; vertical Z axis of 1250/1500 mm; high dynamics (speed up to 40 m/min); high chip removal capacity on steel and tough materials; maximum table load capacity: 5 and 10 t/m; fully enclosed work area.
According to FFG, the RC line can be fitted with different milling heads: continuous birotary head with geared, high-torque kinematics and automatic backlash compensation; double offset birotary head designed for maximum penetration in the workpiece and increased working volumes; standard 32 kW, 24000 rpm spindle with HSK-A-63 tool holder; new 45 kW, 15000 rpm spindle with high removal rate and HSK-A-100 tool holder, suitable for machining operations using large-size tools.
The RC line of products is particularly suitable for high-speed semi-finishing and finishing of moulds for both plastic and metal sheet parts of the automotive industry, adds the company.
