JinkoSolar furthered its interests in the Latin American solar market today with the announcement that the company has signed a deal to supply 100 MW of PV modules to two projects located in Chile's Atacama Desert region.

One of the driest, hottest and sunniest corners of the world, the Atacama has burst on to the PV scene in recent years as numerous companies have developed pipelines and portfolios for solar projects in the region.

JinkoSolar is just the latest solar company to supply its expertise and reach in the area, and will supply its high efficiency PV solar modules to the two projects.

For the first project – the 60 MW Lalackama PV plant – the company will supply 197,000 modules, which is enough capacity to generate some 132million kWh of solar power per year. Project number two is a 40 MW solar plant located in the municipality of Diego de Almagro. Once complete, this plant will be capable of producing 88 million kWh of electricity annually.
