Powerway Renewable Energy recently announced that its PV mounting system underwent rigorous boundary layer wind tunnel testing at the wind engineering laboratories of Ruscheweyh Consult GmbH, in Würselen, Germany.
Powerway’s CEO, Mr. Benson Wu, said, "Mounting system design is highly important for PV systems. Based on data from extensive wind tunnel testing, mounting structures can be designed to be much more reliable by precisely measuring pressure and load on the mounting system under different conditions.
"In addition, the testing makes the systems less costly, because the data shows how to minimize the necessary ballast weight according to each situation.
"We chose Ruscheweyh Consult GmbH for Powerway’s wind tunnel testing because of their reputation as one of the leading international boundary layer wind tunnel testing companies—the top of the class, in Germany and around the world."
