Hareon Solar signs 600MW DG project agreement with Xingtai City, China

China-based PVEP, Hareon Solar Technology Co has entered into a framework agreement with officials of Xingtai City, Hebei province, China to develop 600MW of distributed generation (DG) rooftop projects at a cost of 6 billion yuan (US$968.9 million).
The first phase of the framework agreement is to install around 300MW of rooftop projects, which will require local government co-ordination on leasing and grid connection issues, according to Hareon Solar. Timelines for the projects were not disclosed.
DG rooftop projects will become the key market for PV in China, according to central government policies set out at the beginning of 2014.
However, only recently are major DG programs being announced due to the complexity of the DG market.
