On November 18, the first CNC testing machine for abrasive belt grinding made by China operated with success in the School of Material Science & Engineering of Henan University of Technology. With a programme finishing, a complete laboratory report was given at once. This machine is characterized with computer programme control, stability, high performance, precise measurement, low noise and dust free.

The ADSY-50B machine is planned by CNCAA, conducted by the expert committee, designed by chief designer and committee member Li Daoyu, and manufactured by SUFOMA machinery Co., Ltd. It is the resolution of CNCAA to build a technological service platform for enterprises, to strengthen the manufactiring ability and to accelerate the development of the abrasive industry. It is also the expectation of the whole industry. The introduction meeting is hold by CNCAA, and more than 20 units from coated abrasive manufacturing and products, tackifier, abrasives smelting, colleges, research institutes and media attended. Field test was carried out for two hours. Isobaric process and permanent feed of pole and circular tube were carried respectively. Delegates observed, took photos of the machine and asked questions, and they appreciated it very much.

After that, the committee member Li Daoyu introduced some improvements of the machine since the show at 2013 Abrasive and Grinding Expo based on customers’ feedback. Those improvements include: vacuum hose, grinding bit, feed system, rotating holder, protection mask and electronic control. Besides, spray cooling, infrared temperature measurement and distance technology are added.

Delegates discussed the application of the machine about the standard of workpieces, supply of standard workpieces and test for wood-used abrasive belts. Deputy minister Zhangfei from SUFOMA machinery Co., Ltd., general manager Wang Cunyin from Hennan Wangpai Abrasive Cloth Manufacturing Co., Ltd., deputy engineer Zhao Xinli from White Dove Abrasives Co., Ltd., QC division manager Wang Liang from Yuli and general manager Li Wei from Zhengzhou Jiasheng Abrasives Co., Ltd. made reports on the meeting.

Dynea (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. and Hubei Yuli Abrasives Belts Group Co., Ltd. signed purchase contracts with CNCAA representative Wang Mingyuan. And Wang Mingyuan signed order contract with the manufacuturer SUFOMA machinery Co., Ltd.. Delegates from Shanghai Woozfine Co., Ltd. also suggested a grinding data service with the machine by CNCAA.

Wang Mingyuan summarized at the meeting. He appreciated the high quality, low noise and dust free as well as stability of the machine. This machine perfects the grinding technology and stands out at home and abroad. For the success of the machine, Li Daoyu, Li Yanxian and SUFOMA machinery Co., Ltd. devoted much.

Wang Mingyuan said we now live in a data age and data matter most, everything about a product is subject to data. Without data, the industry cannot make product criteria. At present, some enterprises are manufacutring advanced products, but they have no formal standards for their products. Besides, the professional institute in China-National Abrasives Testing Centre now still have no modern testing technology for the coated abrasives, and the old-fashioned method of sheet radius grinding is still used. Innovation therefore is discouraged.

Finally, Wang Mingyuan took Yuli as an example, he said the chairman of the board Li Shanyu ever called him and talked about the machine and wanted to oder more than one. Besides, Dynea (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. don’t manufacture abrasive belts, but they devote much to their laboratory. Dynea have their own labs for testing. These enterprises focus on the future and can well grasp the value of the innovative machine. Many enterprises nowadays, however, haven’t got the point. Some big factories make profits for billions fo Yuan every year but they just grudge buying one testing machine for their products. And this problem is common in the industry. With increasing profits, enprises should too innovate and upgrade their facilities. After all, a nice car can run like a snail on a jammed road.
