Minister Chen Deming Meets with Japan Trade Minister Masayuki Naoshima

Commerce Minister Chen Deming met with Masayuki Naoshima, newly-appointed Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, on October 9th.
Chen Deming first congratulated Masayuki Naoshima on his appointment. Chen said, in recent years, China-Japan trade and economic relations maintain sound development momentum, and the two sides still have solid foundation of cooperation in spite of the impact of the financial crisis. This June, the 2nd China-Japan High-level Economic Dialogue was successfully held in Tokyo, and several important consensuses were reached, China-Japan mutually beneficial strategic relations being further enhanced. The two sides should vigorously put into force the consensuses that have been reached up to now, promote the cooperation in such fields as China-Japan trade of technology, small and medium-sized enterprises, China-Japan-Korea FTA research, Doha Round Negotiations, etc.
Masayuki Naoshima expressed his congratulations on China's 60th founding anniversary. Naoshima said, Japan's new cabinet attaches great importance to Japan-China trade and economic relations. At present, China and Japan economy are more and more interdependent, and further cooperation is expected by the way of joint efforts of the two sides.
During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on the specific issues of China-Japan trade and economic relations, and agreed to hold the first China-Japan IPR working group meeting in November.
