Pakistan Steel Mills restarts Blast Furnace-II

Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) has restarted its Blast Furnace-II after 10 days of outrage.
Mr Shazim Akhtar, spokesman, in the statement, said that “The restart of the plant helped taking the day production at 44%.”
The spokesman said that “Production from second BF would be increased gradually, while production from BF-I will be maintained at around current production level.”
The current average production of last four months stood at 44%. It will be increased upto 50% in the next month of January 2015, and upto 60% in February.
Mr Akhtar said that “The management is likely to achieve breakeven point that is 77% CAPU (current average capacity production utilization) in the first quarter of 2015.”
The furnace was shut down for repair work on December 20th.
