The year of 2015 is coming, and what’s to come in the new year in nonferrous metals market?
The outlook for nickel and rare earth is optimistic in 2015, China Securities Journal cited 2015 outlook reports released by securities companies.
The ongoing restructuring of rare earth companies gives a boost to market confidence over the development of the sector.
For nickel, supply deficit has always been closely watched since Indonesia introduced its export ban on nickel ore in early 2014, in addition to seasonal factors in the Philippines and falling inventories at China’s ports. Such supply worries will continue to predominate the 2015’s nickel market.
Market players also express optimistic views over 2015’s zinc market, believing the improvement in market fundamentals will support higher zinc prices.
In addition, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will introduce new mechanism in 2015 to eliminate inefficient capacities in high-pollution, and energy consumption industries, involving steel, aluminum , cement, etc.
The effort to accelerate the elimination in nonferrous metals industry will pay off gradually in the future.
