Indian secondary steel market opens on negative note on Day 1 of Week 04

The prices of various steel making ingredients, intermediates and finished steel remained in negative territory on Day 1 of Week 4 of 2015
Prices of sponge iron exhibited weak trends on Monday opening with correction at Bellary (-100), Kolkata (-50), Raipur (-50) and Rourkela (-100).
Steel scrap prices were stable except for minor variations at Mandi Gobindgarh (+250) and Ludhiana (-175)
Prices of plate cuttings at Alang gained INR 100 per tonne but the ship breaking scrap lost INR 100 per tonne
Prices of benchmark pencil ingot however exhibited clear cut down ward trend. Jaipur (-50), Hyderabad (-200), Ludhiana (-90), Mandi Gobindgarh (-150), Mumbai (-200), Muzzafarnagar (-100), Raigarh (-50) and Rourkela (-100). However, Kolkata and Durgapur in Eastern India posted gains of about INR 50 per tonne
Rebar prices also weakened at most places except for gain of INR 250 per tonne at Kolkata and INR 50 per tonne at Delhi NCR. Hyderabad (-300), Jalna (-339), Ludhiana (-87), Mandi (-100) and Mumbai (-300)
On the other hand, sections prices gained INR 250 per tonne at Indore and lost INR 300 per tonne at Mumbai
