China from Tuesday will require a security deposit on imported nylon 6 or polycaprolactam from the United States, the European Union, Russia and the Taiwan region, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said in a statement Monday.
The decision followed a preliminary ruling of the MOC, which said the above-mentioned areas had dumped nylon 6 on the Chinese market and the imports had caused substantial damage to the domestic sector.
The MOC said ultimate ruling would be issued based on further investigation.
Nylon 6 is widely used in the manufacture of hosiery, knitted garments, threads, ropes, filaments, nets and tire cords.
