The average spot price for polysilicon solar photovoltaic (PV) modules declined by 0.34% week-on-week to USD 0.595 (EUR 0.542) per watt during the seven days through March 4, statistics by researcher PVinsights show.
At the same time, the spot price for thin-film PV modules remained unchanged at USD 0.626 per watt on average.
According to PVinsights’ statistics, the spot price for multi-crystalline silicon (multi-Si) cells slipped by 0.6% to USD 1.316 per 156-sq-mm piece and the one for mono-crystalline silicon (mono-Si) cells of the same size went down by 0.5% to USD 1.779. The price for Taiwan-made polysilicon cells fell by 0.97% to USD 0.307 per watt.
Meanwhile, multi-Si wafers were sold for USD 0.839 per 156-sq-mm piece, or 0.36% less than in the prior seven days. The spot price for mono-Si wafers of the same size decreased by 0.64% to USD 1.087.
The average spot price for PV-grade polysilicon, the main raw material for the photovoltaics industry, was down 0.79% to USD 18.780 per kg and the one for second grade polysilicon dropped by 0.84% to USD 17.800 per kg.
