The prime industrial association of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)- Indian Industries Association (IIA) has welcomed the Uttar Pradesh Electricity regulatory Commission (UPERC's) move to clear the Roof Top Solar Photovoltaic Regulations-2015 on March 20, 2015.
IIA said that it is thankful to state government for taking up the issue seriously which IIA had raised during North India Solar Summit -2014 regarding Roof top solar and Net Metering. The government had accordingly brought 'Uttar Pradesh Roof Top Solar Photovoltaic Power Point Policy-2014' in September 2014.
IIA has been continuously striving for the promotion and development of Solar Energy throughout the Northern region since long. In this process IIA have organized various activities including North India Solar Summit-2014, to create awareness among people. IIA members said, "State Government has been proactive in promoting Solar by bringing separate State Level Solar Policies."
Prasshant Bhatia from IIA said, "State government is doing its best possible efforts to tap this resource to overcome the power crisis and to improve the availability of power in the state by promoting the establishment of solar energy based power projects, both grids connected and off-grid type."
Experts feel that implementation of this policy and its regulations in a proper and timely manner will give a good scope to manufacturing companies, consultants, distributors and to all the consumers.
In line with the priority and policy of the Government of UP to promote the use and generation of solar energy across the state, IIA is organizing its second edition of North India Solar Summit (NISS) from April 24-26, 2015. This summit is aimed to provide a platform through which all the stakeholders can come together and discuss various issues pertaining to promoting and developing solar energy and its possible solutions to the present challenges.
