Venezuela's CVG-Bauxilum alumina sales totaled 20,808 mt in February, down 63% on sales of 56,353 mt in February 2014, Bauxilum said Monday.
February sales were also down 34%, on sales of 59,498 mt in January 2015.
All February 2015 alumina sales were domestic.
This has been a low month for Bauxilum, both in terms of alumina and bauxite sales.
This is due in part on low inventory at this time of the year for both alumina and bauxite. Officials say figures will rise in March as the company gets back on track for the coming year.
Bauxilum's bauxite sales were 882 mt in February, down 21% on sales of 1,123 mt in February 2014.
February bauxite sales were up 139%, however, on sales of 369 mt in January 2015.
The sales were all to downstream aluminum company Ferralca.
Bauxilum is part of the Corporacion Venezolana de Guayana's (CVG) 600,000 mt/year primary aluminum complex in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state.
