The Los Angeles Lakers, the new NBA champions, chose Jason of Beverly Hills, owned and operated by jeweler Jason Arasheben, to design the team's championship rings.
The illustrious team won the NBA title for 15th time after defeating Orlando Magic in the 2009 NBA Finals.
The rings were crafted from a special batch of 15-karat yellow and white gold. The unusual gold karatage was a tribute to the number of championships won by the team. The players received their rings in a ceremony held on October 27 at the Lakers' home arena.
For the first time in championship ring history, the players’ faces and jersey numbers were inscribed on their personal rings.
The ring features fourteen round brilliant white diamonds surrounding a centered championship trophy.
Jeweler Arasheben stated. "As a personal jeweler and friend to a number of professional athletes, I know what the players want. We chose a design that reflects the L.A. lifestyle, which is bigger and flashier while maintaining an element of class."
