The Center for Creative Economy and Innovation in Gyeongnam, which is led by the Doosan Group, has announced that they hosted a briefing on “Mechatronics and ICT technological Needs” in Seoul City and Changwon City for two consecutive days from June 29 to 30.
The presentation aimed to build the foundation to nurture the smart machinery industry and match enterprises with one another, creating new businesses. Representatives of 200 small and medium-sized companies and venture companies attended the event.
A total of 9 projects were introduced at the event, including Doosan Infracore’s project of “Needs to Develop Unmanned and Automatic Construction Machinery and Required Technologies” and that of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction on “Needs for Safety Management Solution for Power Plant by Using Internet of Things (IoT) Technology.”
ICT companies will propose their specific matching plans one or two months after they receive individual counseling about the fields in which their technologies can converge with those of machinery.
Choe Sang-gi, head of the Center, said, “In order to nurture the smart machine industry, the key success factor is how to bring about technological collaboration between machinery and ICT enterprises,” explaining, “It is the main objective of the event to introduce the kinds of ICT needs that the machinery affiliates of Doosan Group have.”
Nam hyeong-do, head of an ICT venture company named Potenit, said, “Although we have ICT technologies, it is not easy to identify the technological needs of enterprises in machinery manufacturing... This presentation helped us to identify areas where ICT and machinery industries can converge, and thus provide us with substantive help,” said Nam.
Meanwhile, the Gyeongnam creative center and the Doosan Group will frequently host “Idea Pitching Days” to locate good ideas targeting small and medium-sized venture companies. They will select ideas to provide one-top services ranging from that for trial production to financial, legal, patent consulting, and financial evaluation support.
