Saint-Gobain Abrasives has launched Flexovit, a range of standard products developed as part of a global rebranding and product rationalisation programme.
Flexovit comprises all kinds of industrial abrasives including coated, bonded, thin wheel, CPD and superabrasives as well as a bespoke made-to-order service for specialist manufacturing applications.
Richard Edwards, Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Abrasives, said: "Our OEM customers have exacting requirements and this range will ensure we provide the product, the quality and the service they expect, time after time".
"A new centralised distribution centre means our customers and distributors will benefit from improved product availability and reliable deliveries, within just five days and we aim to ensure that a minimum 95% of all deliveries are made on time and in full, for all our customers".
"The range also brings simplicity to the industrial abrasives marketplace, making product selection easier, while increasing choice".
Located in Born, Holland, the firm's purpose-built distribution centre will store large quantities of Flexovit branded products ready for immediate despatch throughout Europe.
Once an order is made, its distribution can then be monitored online via a remote ordering and tracking system.
"This innovative distribution system means our customers can rely on accurate, real time information about the status of their order," said Edwards.
"We believe this emphasis on service and delivery, combined with an extensive product range and commitment to quality, will appeal to industrial end-users and distributors alike".
The Flexovit catalogue provides detailed performance data on each product and technical information to help customers select the right product.
For example, when selecting a coated product, it is important to consider variable factors such as grit size, belt speed and the type of adhesive bond.
"The Flexovit catalogue is an invaluable user guide for the modern industrial engineer - the most comprehensive manual on industrial abrasive selection ever produced", said Edwards.
Saint-Gobain Abrasives is also introducing two complementary product ranges.
These are Atlas, for standard abrasives applications, and the higher specification Norton range.
The Atlas range is already available and the consolidated Norton range will be launched later this year.
