Hunan-based Lengshuijiang Steel chairman Chen Daifu said the mill is poised to finish a structuring reshuffle prior to December 21 2009. According to the reshuffle plan, Hunan Valin Iron and Steel Group, ranking 79th of Chinas top 500 enterprises, will merge with Lengshuijiang Steel, the No 497 in the list, and guarantee the latter with capital and policy support, with which Mr Chen believes the mill will expand its capacity to 5.5 million tons in the next two years.
