On the morning of March 8, the ground-breaking ceremony of the Shangqiu LILIANG DIAMOND Technology Research and Development Centre project was held in Suiyang Industrial Cluster.
It is understood that the project covers an area of 191 mu, with a total construction area of 157,000 square metres, and can produce 1.5 million carats of lab-grown diamonds annually, achieving an output value of 3 billion yuan and a profit tax of 1 billion yuan.
The project will rely on the provincial functional diamond engineering technology research centre and the engineering laboratory for the synthesis of gem-grade large single crystals, in conjunction with Jilin University, Henan University of Technology and other universities.
The project aims to build a new innovation platform, strive to create a national research and development centre for superhard materials, achieve core technology breakthroughs in superfinishing, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, semiconductor devices and new functional materials, form an internationally advanced core technology and intellectual property system, and make positive contributions to solving key problems in materials and superfinishing in key areas in China.
