The 106th China Import and Export Fair Closed

The 106th China Import and Export Fair closed on November 4th. It was a successful fair: with a great number of foreign buyers, heated trade negotiations, and increased export transactions.
1. Foreign Buyer Attendance Increased
188,170 overseas buyers from 212 countries and regions attended this fair, an increase of 13.7% or 22,734 people, compared with that of the Spring Fair this year; 13,608 more attendees or 7.8% up, compared with that of the Autumn Fair last year. An obvious increase in buyer attendance from EU and the US can be seen. There were also more new buyers attending this fair.
The amount of buyers from Asia, America, Europe and Oceania all increased compared with that of the Spring Fair this year. European buyers increased most, up by 31.5%, with total of 37,268 buyers; the second comes America, increased by 15.9% and total 24,795 buyers; and buyers from Asia and Oceania were 106,751 and 5,600, increased by 10.5% and 12.7% respectively.
2. Exports Increased
The export trade volume totaled USD 30.47 billion, an increase of USD 4.24 billion or 16.2%, compared with the Spring Fair this year; down by USD 1.08 billion or 3.4%, compared with the Autumn Fair last year.
USD 13.59 billion of Electronic and machinery exports remain ranking first, up by 20.7% compared with that of the Spring Fair this year, accounting for 44.6% of the total; the trade volume light of industrial products was USD 9.76 billion, accounting for 32.1% of the total and increased by 16.6%; the transaction of textile and garments reached USD 3.42 billion, accounting for 11.2% of the total trade volume and up by 5.9%.
The transaction of all kinds of commodities saw increases. Home appliance saw an increase of 11.3% in terms of trade volume, and the total was USD 5.31 billion; the trade volume of hardware tools was USD 2.61 billion, up by 22.6%; garments and accessories traded at USD 1.79 billion, up by 10.5%; textiles' trade volume achieved USD 1.63 billion, up by 1.4%; and the trade volume of transportation vehicles was USD 1.4 billion, up by 23.4%.
The transactions in traditional market recovered, new market saw both increase and decrease. The E.U., Middle East and U.S.A. were the top 3 in terms of trade volume, which reached USD 9.33 billion, USD 4.26 billion and USD 4 million, increased by 23.3%, 3.3% and 20.9% respectively than that of the previous session, and accounting for 30.6%, 14% and 13.1% of the total trade volume respectively. In respect to the new markets, the transactions in Brazil market enjoyed large increase, with USD 1.07 billion trade volume, up by 98.8%.
Private enterprises were still the main trading party at the fair. The trade volume of private enterprises, state-owned enterprises and foreign-investment enterprises reached USD 19.59 billion, USD 5.75 billion and USD 5.23 billion, respectively accounting for 64%, 18.9% and 17.1% of the total, increased by 17.5%, 10.2% and 18.1% over the Spring Fair this year.
The export of the coastal provinces is inspiring. The top five in terms of trade volume are: Guangdong province with USD 9.21 billion, Zhejiang province with USD 3.94 billion, Jiangsu province with USD 3 billion, Shandong province with USD 2.32 billion and Anhui province with USD 1.7 billion.
Trading in the name Brand Zone went well. The trade volume achieved in the name Brand Zone accumulated to USD 9.99 billion, increased by 28.4% compared to the Spring Fair this year, accounting for 32.8% of the total.
On-line transactions reaped good results. The Canton Fair official website accumulated 116.761 million visits, an increase of 6.6% compared to the Spring Fair this year. The intended trade volume of online transaction reached USD 41.68 million, increased by 18.7% than the previous session.
3. Matched Domestic Trade and Foreign Trade
This Canton Fair strengthened efforts to actively promote the business matching of domestic trade and foreign trade. For instance, this fair invited more domestic purchasing representatives to attend; attached special label on the booths of the 18,347 export enterprises that attempt to do international business; for the first time set up Domestic Purchasing Center during the Second and the Third Session of the fair; held Canton Fair Forum, etc. The actual total attendance of domestic purchasing representatives at this fair was 7,504; at the Second Session, there were 15 domestic purchasing enterprises setting up 19 booths at the Domestic Purchasing Center; and at the Third Session, there were 21 domestic purchasing enterprises setting up 28 booths at the Domestic Purchasing Center. The domestic purchasing enterprises and the export enterprises also conducted business matching negotiation.
4. Effectively Enhanced Exhibition Service Level
This fair continued to improve exhibition service, made full preparation on food safety, security guard, and booth withdrawal & change, worked out corresponding emergency response plans and made appropriate coordination, which won highly opinion from the exhibitors and buyers.
