CPC Subsidiary Marble and Granite International Co. buys Greek Marble Factory

As part of the company's expansion plan, Marble and Granite International Company Limited, a subsidiary of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC), recently acquired a marble factory from Greece.
This factory is expected to contribute to increase sales of Greek marble in Saudi Arabia.
In addition, Marble and Granite International Company Limited is planning to buy marble factories in Italy and China as it pursues its growth strategy.
Dr. Faysal Ibrahim Alaquil, Business Development Director and Administrative Affairs and official spokesman of Construction Products Holding Company, said:
"Marble and Granite International Co. Ltd., is one of the largest marble and granite companies in the Middle East, and has one of the largest and most advanced marble factories in the world, equipped with the latest machineries for cutting and formation of marble. In addition it has concessions for 25 granite quarries in Saudi Arabia, where the company is extracting and cutting Saudi granite for use in the local market as well as for export to the international market."
He added, "CPC recently allocated a plot of land of two hundred and seventy five thousand square meters within the company's industrial complex in Bahra to build a modern factory for marble and granite. The capacity of the new factory is expected to be one million, two hundred thousand square meters of marble and granite, and will employ about 500 workers."
Dr. Alaquil further explained that in accordance to the national industry strategy, CPC is committed to train young Saudi nationals to join the marble industry, which is one of the most developed local industries with increasing demand in view of the current construction and building boom in Saudi Arabia.
