It has just been announced that American Idol winner Carrie Underwood is officially engaged to Ottawa Senators hockey star Mike Fisher. Just days before the proposal, the American Idol winner blogged about the fact that famous people are now beginning to wear black diamond rings.

In light of her recent blog, there is now much speculation around what kind of engagement ring the American Idol star will receive.

According to Carrie, black diamond rings “bestow a fresh attribute to conventional jewelry, and at the same time, they’re as attractive and every bit graceful as any other diamond.”

The star singer added: “Black diamonds are mined by and large in Brazil and in the Central African commonwealth.”

It seems that black diamonds rings are the latest trend.
