Shougang Group would produce 30 million tons of steel next year, said a senior manager of Shougang Marketing Company at a forum. He explained the current conditions of various operations subordinated to the group.

Headquarters: New Shougang re-established a steel-dominated strategy in 2003 with section and round bar as its main products, together with sideline businesses spanning mining, electronics, real estate, services, finance and foreign trade. It began to slash output and labor forces in 2007 for its pledge to contribute to a green Olympics. Shougang Jingtang Company is also a key integrated project in Beijing.

Shougang Cold Rolled Plant is running two world-class production lines, one from Germany, the other from South Korea. Shougang Cutting Company, which relies on mineral resources from inside the group, has an annual capacity of 8.5 million tons. Shouqin Company, located in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, is now running two production lines to produce 350,000 tons a year of steel plate up to 150 mm thick.

Equipped with two 5,500-cubic meter blast furnaces, Shougang Jingtang Company in Caofeidian, Tangshan, would produce 9.7 million tons of high-end flat products by 2025 for the auto and home appliance sectors.
