Diamond Giant Alrosa's Export Permits Renewed

According to IDEX Online, the Russian Ministry of Industry & Trade has renewed the export permits of Alrosa and some of its subsidiaries. The renewal means that the list of approved rough diamond exporters in Russia will stay unchanged in 2010.
In addition to diamond miner Alrosa, the Ministry also approved the permits of the following Alrosa subsidiaries; OJSC Alrosa-Nyurba, OJSC Almazy Aanbara and OJSC Severalmaz; and OJSC Nizhne-Lenskoye, CJSC Uralal-maz and Almazjuvelirexport.
Figures for Russia’s rough diamond exports from January to September of this year stand at 8.183 million carats, valued at $571.52 million, according to the country’s Finance Ministry and Kimberley Process records.
