Diamond Miner Petra Resumes Underground Work at Koffiefontein Mine

Miner Petra Diamonds announced Wednesday that it has resumed underground operations at its Koffiefontein diamond mine in South Africa’s Free State province, Mining Weekly reported.
The JSE-listed diamond company suspended all mining activity in Koffiefontein after one worker was killed in what was ruled as an equipment malfunction-related incident.
The matter in still under investigation by both Petra Diamonds and the local Department of Mineral Resources.
