The fact that Lantek’s CAD/CAM and ERP solutions are perfectly co-ordinated has enabled Metalic to improve productivity and benefit from cost savings, whilst increasing its production flexibility and remaining at the forefront of technology.
Metalic, a company specialising in outsourced metal processing, is firmly committed to technology, using modern tools in production and computing to enable its team of professionals to effectively meet the demands of the market and provide quality service.
The company has therefore been renewing its technological infrastructure –machinery and software- adapting to market changes, using all the cutting, bending and welding technologies available for its activities, in order to be able to offer not only a simple part but also the most complex project.
After taking a look at what was available on the market, Metalic chose to install Lantek’s CAD/CAM and ERP solutions, as the company found that Lantek’s applications were perfectly integrated and co-ordinated, thereby enabling it to increase production flexibility, efficiency and control.
To deal with the production processes involving cutting the following Lantek Expert II modules were deployed: Cut Oxifuel-Plasma and Cut Laser; Export Quattro for procedures to optimise cutting and to automatically calculate rectangular parts involving shearing; and the Expert Duct module for automatically calculating duct figures.
As far as business management is concerned, this was covered by implementing five Lantek Expert III ERP modules: Manufacturing, Sales and Purchasing, Product Management (BOM) and Inventory Management.
The deployment of Lantek’s CAD/CAM/ERP solutions has enabled the Lerida-based company to benefit from the possibility of unifying orders from different customers, based on different criteria like thickness or quality, all under the umbrella of overall factory management and simplifying work.
“With Lantek, Metalic has significantly increased its production flexibility, a critical aspect for us, as we have a permanent stock of all thicknesses and qualities of sheet metal, steel and aluminium in order to be able to respond immediately and offer our customers a quicker service”, said Rull.
