China Newly Increased 110.2m Jobs in 2009

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security issued news on January 14, claiming that China newly increased 110.2 million jobs in 2009, with the employ rate of grads reaching 87%; 5.14 million laid-off workers found jobs; and 1.64 million persons who had difficulty in hunting jobs were employed, with the urban registered unemployment rate controlled at 4.3%.
The employment of grads, migrant workers and people in straitened circumstances was steadily rising, with the target tasks for the whole year's employment fully exceeded.
Relevant responsible person with the Ministry stated that the departments of human resources and social security at all levels will make active efforts to ensure the jobs to be newly increased in 2010 will reach more than 9 million, there will be 5 million jobs for laid-off workers and the target task that the urban registration employment rate will be controlled within 4.6% will be accomplished in a bid to guarantee the basic stability of the employment situation to make due contributions to the overall situation of "guarantee growth, ensure the people's livelihood and ensure stability".
