Baotou Steel became the world’s largest rail producer by making 1.3 million tons last year, up 40 percent year-on-year, including 570,000 tons of 100-meter long, high-speed (up to 380 km per hour) rail. The mill has received overseas orders of 49,000 tons for its American standard 115RE rail.
