Abstract: The first synthetic diamond was produced on two-anvil press under high pressure, high temperature in the world (hereinafter referred to as two-anvil press). However, there are two different results. This device has become mainstream in the Western industrialized countries, while has not developed in China. In order to reveal reason, this essay searches answer from articles that are written by researchers and producers who devote themselves to two-anvil press and the synthetic technology of diamond. Therefore, the basic materials of the essay are extracted from their articles. It is not difficult to see that our country does not have the capacity to provide large hard alloy cylinder and holding up hammer and the high import cost through the research results that are offered by them. Moreover, the cost of two-anvil production is higher with the comparison of diamond that is produced by cubic press. Two-anvil press can not meet the need that diamond production enterprises pursue the maximization of economic benefit. So it is impossible to develop two-anvil press in China.
