Effect of multiple boron sources on boron-doped diamond single crystals

Abstract In this paper boron-doped diamond single crystals was synthesized at high pressure and high tern-perature (HPHT)with iron-based catalyst doped with B4C,h-BN and Na2B4O7.The effects of multiple boron sources on diamond were studied according to the characterization of structure and properties of the boron-doped diamond.Experiment showed that iron-based catalyst doped with multiple boron sources could accom-plish steady supply of boron element and improve the boron content of the diamond.The diamond crystalliza-tion mainly occured on the(111)crystal surface with the increase of boron content,then mechanical proper-ties and thermal stability were improved obviously.Experiment results show that multiple boron sources will help advance the quality of diamond.
