Finite element simulation on distribution of temperature in the HPHT syntnesis chamber with sideward heater

Abstract The temperature distribution in the diamond synthesis cell of sideward heater was investigated theoretically by finite element method(FEM).By ignoring the big deformation,the knowledge of temperature distribution,which is very difficult to measure experimentally under high pressure,can be computed and revealed to us.Our results showed that the temperature on the outside graphite tube was the highest;in the central was lower,and at the two sides(up and down)was the lowest.Further more,the temperature difference in diamond synthesis cell of sideward heater is smaller than that of vertical heater by nearly 25ï¼….This would greatly help to design new diamond synthesis cell.
