In 2009, Shagang Group produced 26.4 million tons of steel, had sales revenue of 146.3 billion yuan, and a net profit of five billion yuan. The group has become one of China’s largest and most lucrative mills. This year the mill plans to produce more than 30 million tons of crude steel, 29 million tons of steel products, have sales revenue of over 165 billion yuan and a profit and tax of 13 billion yuan.
