Abstract  Mechanical grinding form dressing of diamond grinding wheel is a traditional wheel dressing method.The rotating speed and infeed depth of tool wheel are the main technique parameters.In this paper,high accuracy crush dressing experiments were conducted.Based on the analysis of the grinding forces,suitable technical parameters for crush dressing of metal bonded and resin bonded diamond wheels are obtained,which are:linear speed of tool wheel 11 m/s;rotating speed of tool wheel spindle 1 050~1 800 r/min;the rotating speed of the diamond wheel spindle 400~1 000 r/min,while the linear speed of diamond wheel 2.6~1 0.5m/s.Experiments of mechnical grinding sharpening and sand blasting sharpening were also conducted and their effect was compared.
