China's FDI Statistics for January 2010

In January of 2010, the number of overseas-funded enterprises approved to establish recently amounted to 1,866, up by 24.73% year on year. And the contracted foreign capital reached US$12.554 billion, up by 20.34% year on year. The actual use of foreign capital rose by 7.79% year on year to US$8.129 billion. Our utilization of foreign capital has maintained a growth momentum for half a year since August of 2009.
In January, the actual use of foreign capital in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery rose by 88.87% year on year, and its proportion in total foreign capital rose to 1.49% from 0.85% in the same period of last year. The actual use of foreign capital in manufacturing was down by 11.57% year on year, and its proportion in total foreign capital decreased by 10.65 percent year on year, from 59.3% to 48.65%. The actual use of foreign capital in the service industry rose by 26.52% year on year, and its proportion in total foreign capital was up by 6.47 percent compared with 37.28% in the same period of last year. In the real estate, the actual use of foreign capital was down by 6.04% year on year. (Not include banking, insurance and securities.)
