Abstract In this thesis, orthogonal cutting experiments were carried out on Brazilian black granite with brazed diamond wheel,on the influences of cutting speed, feeding rate and cutting depth upon the horizontal cutting force Fh and vertical cutting force Fv.By means of extreme difference analysis and trend figures, optimized technical parameters were acquired.Variance analysis indicate that, the feed rate and cutting depth exerted more influence on the cutting forces than the cutting speed. The cutting force regression equation was established through regression analysis.Comparison with the result data from experiment indicated that the established regression equation has quite good fitting degree.
