The export of already processed stone products to China usually costs foreign companies much more money than blocks and slabs. That’s why 90% of foreign exhibits in Stonetech Shanghai are blocks or slabs. This makes difficult for Chinese people to see those perfect finished products from other countries in hotels, shopping malls or even private homes. Will Chinese stone companies forever enjoy the priority of being native? No. ! Things may change.
In a special interview with Turkish Embassy, the Commercial Counselor told CCPIT Building Materials Sub-Council, that Turkish Government is presenting great support to stone companies for setting up processing centers in China. Turkey has resourceful stone mines, and China has huge labour class. So it would be the excellent choice to export Turkish stones to China to get processed by native labour, and then, enter directly to end-user market of China. Today Chinese people live a much richer life than ever before, and they focus more on quality and style of daily life. This has given rise to demand for high-quality stone decoration material. It looks as if high quality from foreign countries will beat the low domestic price.
