Abstract: based on the statistic data, the authors analyzed the situation and progress of China’s superabrasives industry in 2008. 13 tables are used to display the output and production value as well as the import/export of the industry. the authors explained that, although the growth rate of the main economical indexes was slowed down because of the world economical crisis, the products constitution was quite improved, namely the share of the products of high added value increased obviously. The growth rate of the total sales income came to 13.5%, and that of the profit, 29%. Our diamonds and related tools are sold to 110 countries and regions, among which, the export amount of diamonds attained to 1350 million carats, representing a high growth rate of 45.6%; while that of the diamonds tools, 11905 tons, showing a growth rate as high as 46.3%. all these indicated that China’s diamond and related tools have got a strong position in the world market. However, we should be aware that top quality diamond and related products of the developed countries is still dominant in the world market. We still have a long way to go in respect of independent innovation and products structure adjustment. Let’s devote all our efforts to make China to be a strong country in the field of superabrasives.
