Abstract: in this research, three kinds of wheels made from different abrasives (white fused alumina, pink fused alumina, green silicon carbide) were used to grind Invar 36 alloy. Their grinding forces, grinding temperature, surface roughness and grinding ratio were analyzed and compared. The results show that the grinding ratio of white fused alumina wheel on Invar 36 is relatively higher than that of other wheels, the surface roughness is lower. However, its grinding temperature and forces are quite high. It is suitable for coarse grinding of Invar 36. Grinding forces of pink fused alumina wheel on Invar 36 are the lowest, its grinding temperature as well as the grinding ratio are also the lowest. So it is suitable for precision grinding of Invar 36 components which is easy-to-deform.
