The best-looking commercial installation of IceStone® by the end of next month could parlay into a bracing – as in arctic – trip this summer.
IceStone® LLC recently opened its Second Annual Installation Competition to find the top use of the recycled-material slabs in a commercial application. The winner gets a cabin for two on Lindblad Expeditions' "Land of the Ice Bears" expedition sailing from Longyearbyen, Norway.
Entrants need to send between three to eight shots per installation completed by April 30 in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean (although the person entering the contest must be a U.S. citizen.) Employees of architectural, design, retail, fabrication or distribution firms may enter the contest, with no limit on the number of separate projects submitted.
All entries must include an entry form; images can be in printed or digital format. Projects submitted for last year's commercial competition are ineligible for the 2010 contest.
The deadline for submissions is April 30. Finalists and the eventual winner will receive notification in May.
The grand prize is a category 2 cabin during June, July or August (depending on availability) on the National Geographic Explorer for six days while sailing in Norway's Svalbard archipelago. Air and ground transportation aren’t included.
