Marble is a rich classical stone with depth that brings beauty to any room in the house. We wanted to present to you some really cool already completed decorative marble applications in an effort to help you brainstorm your own ideas for marble installations in your home.

Kitchens When considering marble for your kitchen, countertops and table tops are the obvious places to begin and without a question, will bring a whole new look and feel to your cooking area. As you can see from below, it isn't just about adding marble. The details in the installation and the surrounding accents are what will take your marble kitchen over the top. Be sure to consider beveled edges for the marble, types of sinks, surrounding surfaces, and cabinetry to compliment the marble. Add your own signature pieces such as marble mosaic tiles to the walls, your table top, or even the back splash area. Even think about a custom marble hot pan holder. The possibilities are endless. The key to a beautiful dream marble kitchen is to consider the whole picture and sweat the details, not just the obvious large surface areas.

Bathrooms The easiest room in the house to marble is the bathroom and yes you can go marble crazy. Again take care to consider cabinetry and accents. Consider marble flooring (be careful to consider traction issues of wet floors), marble countertops, marble trim around your mirrors, marble top tubs, etc. The bathroom was created for marble.

If you are looking to do something a bit more sophisticated, the latest trend in marble bathrooms is to install marble vessel sinks (not pictured). These vessel sinks can completely replace a vanity or be installed on top of a vanity as opposed to your traditional sunken sinks.

Jacuzzis There is no doubt about it, roman tubs and Jacuzzis just look so much more elegant when they are wrapped in stone and marble. I would recommend these types of enhancements to any Jacuzzi or tub installation provided there are access panels installed in case anything goes wrong, especially with Jacuzzis or Jacuzzi tubs.

Fireplaces If you are looking to create the perfect focal point in a room, a marble fireplace mantel is the perfect choice. Marble is a beautiful option for your fireplace surround and mantel. Up until recent years marble mantels were only custom made and came with price tags that often blew up consumers remodeling project budgets. Today many manufacturers produce a line of standard marble fireplace mantels. These manufacturers are located all over the world and make available all different variations of marble that has been excavated from many different geographic locations. In addition, these marble fireplaces are now being found in high end home remodeling centers and are relatively easy to install. Any contractor can most likely complete the installation. For those of you on tighter budgets that still can't afford a full blown pure marble fireplace, you can still have your marble dreams via most hollow marble and mantels. These installations are cost effective and are easier and lighter to install.

Bar Tops More and more marble bar tops are being installed as the myths fly out the window regarding marble tops and staining. In a general sense, yes marble surfaces can stain, but with the advent of today's sealers yearly maintenance makes marble staining worries a thing of the past.
