Abstract: Na2O-Al2O3-SiO2-B2O3 system was used as the basic vitrified bond, effects of additives including nano-ZnO, nano-TiO2 and nano-Al2O3 on properties of vitrified bond for CBN abrasive tools were investigated. Tests and analysis were conducted on the bending strength, refractoriness, fluidity and microstructure of the bonds. Experiment results showed that the refractoriness and fluidity as well as the bending strength of vitrified bond were improved obviously with the addition of nano-oxides. Nano-ZnO added vitrified bond had the highest fluidity which was 119.9%, its refractoriness was decreased by 20℃. When adding nano-Al2O3, the bending strength of the vitrified bond attained to 36.51 MPa, and the pore ratio was reduced remarkably. This bond had the most compact microstructure and the least pores.
