One of the issues on the agenda at the upcoming Diamond Manufacturers & Importers Association (DMIA) General Membership Meeting will be techniques for reporting and identifying lost and stolen diamonds, according to IDEX Online.
Among the speakers at the meeting are representative of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), who will discuss a broad range of issues including grading standards, colored diamonds and turn-around time. Ivy Cutler, Coordinator of the GIA’s New York laboratory records department, will discuss the methods available to the trade to identify counterfeit GIA grading reports, notes IDEX Online.
The DMIA is due to announce details of a discount program recently established between the DMIA and a major international airline at the April 28 meeting.
