ABSTRACT: By observing a number of dianaond segments in practical operation, this Paper studied the wear of

the ordinary segments and sandwith segment as analysed three shapes of sandwich segments in use, and discussed

the infuence factors.Taking the ordinary rectangle segment as the wear module, which looks oval on its top  because of the wear, we can derive the formula of the initial speed of the wear, and thus design the internal structure of the diamond segments.
