China-ASEAN Senior Officials Consultation held in Vietnam

The 16th Senior Officials Consultation between China and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was concluded in Vietnam's central city of Hue, according to a press release of Chinese Foreign Ministry here on Wednesday.
The meeting, running from Monday to Tuesday, drew Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue, senior diplomats from ten ASEAN member countries, and ASEAN's Deputy Secretary-General.
Officials at the meeting spoke highly of positive development in China-ASEAN strategic partnership in recent years and discussed measures to enhance bilateral cooperation under the current circumstances, said the press release.
They also exchanged ideas on each country's development, cooperation within East Asia and other international and regional issues of common interest.
As an important annual consultation mechanism between the two sides, the China-ASEAN Senior Officials Consultation is held in turns between China and ASEAN countries. The topics are mainly focused on China-ASEAN relations and international and regional issues of common interest.
