ABSTRACT: Now in stone processing, there are many problems including poor washing ability, difficulty to discharging scrap and big radial cutting force. In order to solve these problem a new kind of diamond segrnent with coolant slots was developed. The results in the cutting properties and working life experiments showed that for the radial cutting force and the working life, the new diamond saw has great advantages compared with conventional ones. By carrying out process parameter experiments and building empirical formula of cutting force, some useful references are obtained for its placation.
