The fifth Brazilian Symposium on Diamond Geology will be held in the southern Brazilian town of Tibagi in November, Diamond News reported.
The diamond geology conference, set for November 6-12, will be sponsored by the Brazilian Society of Geology, Parana Minerals and the Parana Association of Geologists.
The diamond convention aims to be as successful as those held in 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005, and organizers said they expect favorable Brazilian and international diamond industry participation.
Tibagi, in Brazil's Parana State, is one of the most antique gold and diamond producer areas in the Brazilian territory, with explorations going back as far as 1754. The region was one of the major contributors to world diamond production in the 18th century, when Brazil was the largest diamond producer in the world.
