Steel demand from the auto sector has seen a slight slowdown recently, Ma Guoqiang, general manager of the listed Baoshan Iron & Steel Co, China's largest listed steelmaker, said Wednesday.

Ma said in a conference call that the slowdown was an adjustment after excessive levels of growth and would ease supply problems.
