Diamond exports from Botswana increased by 101% in the first quarter of 2010, amounting to $477 million, Diamond World reported.



According the released financial reports, Botswana’s diamond exports in January came to $253 million, February's diamond exports amounted to $172 million and $53 million worth of diamonds were exported in March.



The report also said that Botswana’s gold exports amounted to $13.3 million in the first quarter of 2010 – an 87% increase.
