ABSTRACT: This paper introduced the development and application of diamond tool in dental field. In order to overcome shortcomings of commonly electroplated diamond wheel. A brazed monolayer diamond milling wheel was developed for dental CEREC CAD/CAM system using. Brazing was carried out using NiCn13P9 alloy and a little Cr powder at 950℃ in a vacuum furnace. From SEM topography observation and X-ray diffraction analyses it proved that metallurgical bonding was formed between steel substrate and diamond. Grinding experiment showed that brazed wheel do had strong retention to diamond grits. The durability and the milling efficiency of the brazed monolayer diamond milling wheel were much better than that of electroplated wheel.
