India's April Gem, Jewelry Exports+95.41%

India’s exports of gems and jewelry in April increased by 95.41%, amounting to $ 2.56 billion, compared to $1.31 billion in the corresponding period in 2009.
According to Diamond World, exports of cut and polished diamonds in April came to $1.94 billion, adding 115.6%, compared to $900.59 million in April 2009.
April's gold jewellery exports stood at US$401.7 million, a 20.46% increase from $ 333.46 million in April 2009. Colored gemstone exports rose by 9.2%, to $11.5 million, from $ 10.54 million in April last year.
